Dark Beer Selection - 12 Beers (Stouts and Porters)
Twelve Dark Beers just waiting to be delivered to you.
Scintillating stouts and porters mainly feature here and we've just refreshed the selection ready for the build up to Christmas 2020, where the winter warmers are much needed.
The Selection Consists Of The following twelve beers from a range of breweries including Buxton (Derbyshire), Fallen Brewery (Scotland), Wincle Brewery (Cheshire), Titanic Brewery (Staffordshire), Twisted Wheel Brewery (Warrington), Felinfole (Wales), Seven Brothers (Manchester) and Yeastie Boys (UK and NZ!)
Stout (4.5%, 500ml bottle)
Award winning Stout is pure and unadulterated. Its stout brewed like stouts should be brewed with roast barley giving colour, body, dryness and depth.
A traditional well balanced dry Stout that has a roasted smell and taste with definitive hoppy notes.
Cappuccino Stout (4.5%, 330ml bottle)
Based on a traditional stout, Cappuccio Stout takes the skill of the barista and adds milky coffee flavour – try topping with chocolate sprinkles!
With strong coffee aromas and flavours, Cappuccino Stout delivers a smooth, roasted and sweet taste to savour.
Chocolate and Vanilla Stout (4.5%, 330ml bottle)
A traditional Stout and enhanced it with the silky smooth flavours of chocolate and mellow vanilla.
A true smooth and creamy stout with a sweet difference. The chocolate flavours are balanced by the addition of vanilla extract.
Plum Porter (4.9%, 500ml bottle)
Plum Porter is an infamous, strong, dark porter that has re-defined the sector. By combining the sweetness of plums with the hoppy flavour of a porter we have bagged a winner.
A well-rounded porter with fruity, sweet notes over a backdrop of hoppy flavour.
Nut Brown Ale (4.3%, 500ml bottle)
Nut Brown Ale is a gorgeous ale with a predominantly nutty, caramel malty flavour which gives a robust and full bodied bitterness complimented by aromas of butterscotch, vanilla and a slight fruity after taste. Delicious !!
Old Hag Stout (5.2%, 500ml bottle)
Traditional style stout porter. Local folklore up on the wilds of the Peak Staffordshire Moors talks of a hare turning into a hag. This beer is worth the risk.
Burkes Special ESB (5.0%, 500ml bottle)
A exceptional bitter in more ways than one. One of our absolute favourites, and a winner with lovers of darker beers. Enjoy ideally with a faithful companion.
Sling It Out Stout (5.5%, 440ml can)
A chocolate stout brewed using up-cycled Kellogg’s Coco Pops. Innovation at it's finest with a great tasting stout.
Suede Head (6.5%, 440ml can)
Porter and limited edition brew with Ancoats Coffee Co. named after the Suede Heads because of the smooth, suede-like texture of the beer.
Chew Chew (6%, 330ml can)
A sweet, briney, chewy beer brewed with dark Belgian candi syrup, lactose and sea salt. The complex dark malt bill alongside the smooth honey notes of East Kent Goldings hops results in a decadent and satisfying beer that is also perfectly balanced and drinkable. The perfect accompaniment to a lightly-peated whisky.
Gatekeeper (4.1%, 330ml can)
A deep, dark porter to evoke a sense of mystery. Challenge the Gatekeeper.
Pot Kettle Black (6%, 330ml can)
Fresh & hoppy, yet rich & black... Mindbendingly delicious and a true original. The first beer we ever released, and still our flagship, Pot Kettle Black is one of New Zealands most highly awarded beers. PKB, as it is affectionately known to its regulars, is a juxtaposition of beer styles: fresh and hoppy like a pale ale, yet as dark as night and malty rich. This is no fly-by-night Black IPA though, Pot Kettle Black is true blue Porter with a South Pacific edge.
